Hello from England

Hi
For no reason other than I remember the name from Lok playing English clubs in European competition back in the 70's I have followed the teams fortunes over the last 20 years or so. I worked with someone in England who came from Leipzig and was amazed when I asked about Lok. I visited your wonderful city during the summer 20 years ago, and was taken to see the Zentralstadion where the European matches had been played.
Since then I have always wanted to visit during the season and come and see a game. Well I have just booked a trip to Berlin and Leipzig in February next year and so I hope that I can at least get to see a friendly or indoor game (as I realise the season is closed throughout Jan and most of Feb).
It was good to see promotion achieved this season, and hopefully we can finish above RB II next season.

Hi Blade,
what is your town in UK? i am often in England for visit matches. I like the smaller Clups and the atmosphere below the commerce Football Clubs.
Mostly we are in London for Visit Clubs like Queens Park, Crystal Palace or Charlton. My Highlight was a Derby between Ipswich vs Norwich. Ipswich was opponent from Lok Leipzig 73/74.
maybe we'll meet in a Pub or in the Stadium next Year in Leipzig?

Es kann nur ein Zufall im Namen sein, aber meines Wissens nach nennt man die Anhänger von Sheffield United die Blades. Vielleicht mag er auch nur Vampirjäger

I am from Sheffield and support Sheffield United, we have just completed our 5th season in League 1 (our 3rd division). This is our longest spell outside the top 2 divisions.
It would be good to meet up for a beer or two and hopefully there will be a game, I am in Leipzig from the 17th to the 20th of Feb.

You might be lucky, Blade68! According to
next season's framework calendar, that weekend will be a regular Regionalliga match day. You will just have to hope for a home game. Alternatively, an away game somewhere in or around Berlin might be interesting.

That's good news Haini.
Marco I knew of Lester and the rest of the BBC, never had anything to do with them apart from saying hello at away games. Most of them are now in their 50's and 2 or 3 others have died as well. There are some younger hooligan wannabees but it is not as much of an issue as it was, they seem more intent on being rude and obnoxious to their fellow Blades than causing any real trouble. Really impressed that you know of the Greasy Chip Butty anthem.

And if not, you can travel together with other Leipzig fans to an away match.
That'd be also nice and interesting and the distances in the Regionalliga are not too big to be traveled.

naja, die ersten wahlversprechen können schon jetzt nicht mehr gehalten werden... mal schauen was die zukunft noch so bringt.
positiv sehe ich die zukunft von großbritanien nicht unbedingt... wenn brüssel wirklich hart bleiben will und eigentlich auch muss. hoffen wir mal das die politiker bei der eu nun aufwachen und auf die völker der nationen zugehen...

As Haini said, there will be a regular match in February next year. I would like to invite you to watch the match together and may for a beer or two afterwards.

@ Blade68, if come to visit Leipzig, plan some spare time to visit Colditz and the Colditz Castle. It's just an hour or 90 mins bus ride from Leipzig, and could be interesting for you.
However, nice you are following the fate of Lok all over the yeas.
